In Costa Rica there are two distinctive seasons:

1. Dry Season from January to May.

2. Wet/Green Season from June to December.

Costa Rica is well known for including the most distinctive flora and fauna in its bills denominations and the colors for each bill. The 1,000 is red and features the Arbol de Guanacaste, a national symbol. The 2,000 is blue and features an ocean scene with a shark. The 5,000 is yellow and features a monkey. The 10,000 is green and features the sloth, the most recently adopted national symbol.
